At The Boat Movers, I understand the importance of taking care of your beloved boat when it needs to be moved from one location to another. I'm an experienced and skilled professional, dedicated to providing you with safe, reliable, and efficient boat moving.
I specialise in moving boats of all sizes, from small canal boats to large river cruisers, Dutch barges and widebeams and have the necessary equipment and knowledge to handle your boat with care. I take pride in ensuring that your boat is transported securely and safely to its destination, whether it's a marina, a mooring, for a survey, or for whatever reason you may want to use my services.
I hold full marine liability insurance and CRT trade plates, giving you peace of mind knowing that your boat is in safe hands.
Boat Instruction & Private Skipper Hire
In addition to my boat moving services, I also offer boat instruction and training sessions for those who want to learn how to handle their own boats.
I'm a qualified Tier 2 Level 1 Boatmaster, a RYA Inland Waterways Instructor, I have RYA Powerboat 2 (commercially endorsed), RYA Diesel Engine, RYA First Aid certificates and I have a VHF licence. I can provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to confidently and safely navigate the waterways.
The Boat Movers offer a variety of boat instruction and training sessions, including:
- Basics of canal and inland waterway boating
- Boat handling
- Safe use of locks
- Navigation and safety
The sessions are tailored to your needs, whether you're a beginner or an experienced boater. My aim is to help you gain the knowledge and confidence you need to enjoy your boating experience to the fullest.
I also provide a private skipper service, should you wish to hire a boat, or use your own boat (often on the non-tidal Thames), and just sit back, relax and enjoy your time, whilst an experienced professional takes the helm.
